„Es sungen drei Engel“ (Zpívali tři andělé) patří k nejstarším německým vánočním písním. Text pochází ze 13. století. Melodie je anonymní a byla publikována v Mainzer Canzonial roku 1605. Píseň v krátkých slokách pojednává o celém životě Ježíše Krista, a proto může být zpívána i v postní době. Píseň jsem upravil v moderní podobě.
